Fate deals young orphan Matt Murdock a strange hand when he is doused with hazardous waste. The accident leaves Matt blind but also gives him a heightened “radar sense” that allows him to “see” far better than any man. Years later Murdock has grown into a man and becomes a respected criminal attorney. 白天是律師的他，晚上就化身夜魔俠，如閃電般的感應力，加上俐落身手，將法律無法伸張的惡徒就地正法。然而長期深處城市罪惡的他，面對墮落、沈淪與腐敗的世界，不禁變得易怒衝動，在為光明執法的同時，黑暗也伺機吞噬他的靈魂，將他拉向罪惡的一邊…
此外，金球獎影后珍妮佛嘉納，《綠色奇蹟》男配角麥可克拉克鄧肯，加上《關鍵報告》新生代紅星柯林法洛同台演出。《怒犯天條》名導凱文史密斯搶看初剪版後，強力背書：「夜魔俠真是太刺激了！」
本片的過人視效，則由《鐵達尼號》金獎視效瑞奇松恩製作500個以上的視覺效果鏡頭。香港動作指導袁祥仁，繼《霹靂嬌娃》之後與特技督導傑夫艾曼達設計種種向地新引力挑戰的凌空的鋼絲打鬥飛躍動作。其中袁祥仁負責設計兩場電影中最主要的打鬥場面，分別是麥特和伊萊莎的交手，以及夜魔俠和靶眼在大教堂那場高潮戲。
